VPN Atlas is an independent guide to VPN services — honest, methodology-first comparisons for streaming, gaming, privacy, torrenting and travel. We publish only verifiable facts (founding year, jurisdiction, independent no-logs audits) and never invent speeds, prices or star ratings.
NordVPN is a VPN service founded in 2012 and based in Panama. Its no-logs policy has been verified by repeated independent assurance engagements, most recently by Deloitte (report dated December 2025). We have not run our own speed tests, so we publish no speeds, prices or star rating — confirm current plans on NordVPN's own site.
ExpressVPN is a VPN service founded in 2009 and registered in the British Virgin Islands. It runs RAM-only "TrustedServer" infrastructure and has had its no-logs policy independently audited (KPMG, Cure53, PwC). It is owned by Kape Technologies (which also owns CyberGhost and Private Internet Access). We have run no hands-on tests, so we publish no speeds, prices or rating.
Surfshark is a VPN service founded in 2018 and based in the Netherlands. It has published independent no-logs audits and an infrastructure audit by SecuRing (January 2026), and is part of the Nord Security group (operated independently of NordVPN). We have not tested it hands-on, so we publish no speeds, prices or rating — check Surfshark's own site for current plans.

Quarterly transparency reports; no-logs policy
CyberGhost is a VPN service founded in 2011 and based in Romania (outside the 14 Eyes alliance). It publishes quarterly transparency reports, runs RAM-only "NoSpy" servers, and is owned by Kape Technologies (same group as ExpressVPN and PIA). We have not run our own tests, so we publish no speeds, prices or rating.
Mullvad is a VPN service founded in 2009 and based in Sweden. Its software stack is open-source and has passed repeated independent security audits; it uses anonymous account numbers, requires no email, and charges a flat monthly rate. Mullvad runs NO affiliate program by policy — we cover it editorially for completeness and never imply a partnership.
